While not much stood out about the
Hanna previews, I gave Hanna a shot hoping for an interesting plot and some action.
Synopsis
Hanna has spent her entire life living outside civilization with her father, Erik, training to be a ruthless assassin. After 16 years of rigorous training, Erik finally allows Hanna to leave, all the while knowing she will be heartlessly tracked by worldwide intelligence officers.
As Hanna makes her way across Europe hitching rides with an unsuspecting family on holiday, she slowly uncovers the truth behind her life and the people chasing her.

Overview
Source Code looked like a fun spring watch, presumably high on action and light on plot. Given the cast however; I was intrigued.
Synopsis
Cpt. Colter Stevens wakes up unexpectedly in the body of another man, on a train that eventually explodes killing everyone on board. Stevens quickly discovers he is actually a part of a mysterious government project that allows someone to re-live the final 8 minutes of another person’s life. Stevens’ task — to find the bomber that terrorised the train to avoid further attacks.
As Stevens continually replays the final minutes of a stranger’s life frantically searching for the terrorist, he also uncovers integral details about the research project he’s involved in.

Given Simon Pegg and Nick Frost’s impressive résumés, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see
Paul; albeit with cautious optimism.
Synopsis
Graeme and Clive are a pair of British tourists on holiday in the US, visiting the world famous Comic-Con expo. After getting their fill of the sci-fi heaven, the two comic book junkies embark on a road trip across western America on a mission to visit all the most famous UFO-related sites.
While making their pass near Area 51, they meet Paul, a curiously cultured alien who’s been living at the base for almost 50 years; and now is on the run. As the starstruck friends learn more about Paul’s past (and their own), they are are led on a hilarious roller coaster ride to save Paul from his pursuers.

I had modest hopes for
Battle: Los Angeles, which displays impressive special effects in the previews and boasts a veteran cast.
Synopsis
Staff Sgt Michael Nantz has just returned from a tough tour in Iraq, where he is the only survivor from his unit. Mentally and physically exhausted, Nantz files his papers to retire from the Marines. As news reports begin to flood in regarding mysterious meteors appearing outside Earth’s atmosphere, Nantz carries out his final training orders.
When the meteors are discovered to be alien attackers, Nantz and his unit are ordered to assist evacuation of civilians trapped in an embattled police station. As their mission takes them into unbelievable territory, Nantz and his skeptical unit band together in a heroic attempt to hold back the invaders and survive.
Overview
The Mechanic is a new action/hitman movie starring Jason Statham. I thought this one had a chance to fork off Statham’s usual formula and provide something a little denser.
Synopsis
Arthur is an elite mechanic, or hit man. He lives his life and carries out his contracts according to a specific formula, one that has allowed him to rise up as one of the world’s most trusted mechanics.
After having to fulfill a contract on his most trusted friend Harry McKenna, Arthur begins training Harry’s son, Steve. Steve is young and foolish, but dangerous. As he trains Steve in his image, Arthur must be careful to guard his secret.

Overview
True Grit is a remake of it’s identically named 1969 counterpart (which starred John Wayne). Directed by the Coen brothers (No Country for Old Men) and commanding an all star cast, True Grit carried quite a hype train behind it.
Synopsis
After the careless murder of her father, strong willed Mattie Ross sets out for retribution. While fiercely negotiating her father’s final affairs, she arranges for the toughest U.S. Marshal she can find to aid in finding her father’s murderer, Tom Chaney.
Mattie’s aid – Reuben “Rooster” Cogburn, is a shoot first, ask later lawman. After negotiating the assistance of a Texas Ranger named LeBeouf who had been pursuing Chaney for a separate crime, the trio set out on a hog hunt. They encounter surprises and challenges on their adventure while Cogburn’s heart, and Mattie’s grit, are truly tested. As they all pursue Chaney’s gang for their own purposes, they must work together in order to succeed.

Tron Legacy revives the 28 year old story from 1982. Returning the original star Jeff Bridges, and employing modern effects, Tron Legacy looked to rule the screen.
Synopsis
Sam Flynn is an orphan, living completely on his own for 15 years. When a mysterious page comes from his missing father’s old office, Sam goes to investigate. He ends up being pulled into the spectacular digital world his father created 20 years before. As he begins to grasp his situation, he meets his father, Kevin, the man he was so sure was dead.
Realizing this as their only chance of escape, Kevin Flynn and Sam embark on a mission to reach the portal and return to the real world. Along for the ride is Quorra, the beautiful apprentice and protector of Kevin for many cycles. Together they make a rush for the portal before it closes forever. Read more…
A few days ago, I unveiled a brand new feature — the Showtimes service. Since then I’ve made some significant updates and wanted to fill you in.
The new features:
- Geolocation – the service now attempts to locate you, instead of using a default hard-coded city. Geolocation is used to get your city, and showtimes are automatically displayed for that area. The search box remains of course, in case the location is wrong or you simply would like to search elsewhere. This has worked extremely well in my testing so far, the only exception being on phones. When viewing on a mobile device, if your location cannot be found the service reverts to a default city.
- Posters – instead of just text and links, posters for each movie are displayed (if available). Any movie that I can acquire a poster for will be displayed, otherwise a generic picture will be shown.
Of course these features are in addition to all previously mentioned abilities and have no impact on original functionality. Minor updates will continue over the coming days and weeks, but this will likely conclude all major feature additions.

Overview
The Tourist is a new thriller boasting a compelling cast of Depp and Jolie. I went in hoping for something watchable with a few twists and turns.
Synopsis
Elise Ward is a striking figure, and girlfriend of a mysterious thief, Alexander, who is being pursued by numerous police forces. She receives a message from Alexander to lead the police away by choosing a man with similar features on a train to Venice. In doing so, she begins to fall for the man she’s met, Frank, as he struggles to figure out what he’s involved in.
Meanwhile, the enemy wronged by Alexander’s theft closes in on Elise and Frank in attempt to get his money back.

Overview
